DES MOINES, Iowa — On Sunday, Pastor Brian Brown announced at Lutheran Church of Hope+Elim in Des Moines that 25 pastors would meet to discuss how to organize food donations to help those who are losing SNAP benefits, or will receive half of the food assistance they have relied on.
Pastor Brown shared with WHO 13 on Monday that that number rose to 37 pastors across central Iowa and non-profits plan to help with food assistance outreach.
Pastor Brown encourages anyone who can to help in donations, monetary support, volunteering, and delivering food to people who don’t have transportation to get to a church building.
