JOHNSTON, Iowa — The Blue Star Mothers of Iowa organization is looking for volunteers to help assemble care packages for troops overseas this Christmas.
The group is filling 2,700 boxes for service men and women.
Four-hour shifts are open all next week at the Camp Dodge maintenance garage in Johnston. Monday through Wednesday, volunteers are needed to build boxes and organize products. Thursday through Saturday, the items will be packed in those boxes.
You can sign up for a shift here. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old.
If you have an Iowa family member or friend stationed in the U.S. or overseas, send their address to the group so they can get a care package. Email the information to iabluestarcarepackage@gmail.com.
