WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Toys “R” Us is moving into Jordan Creek Mall and leaders say an opening date is near.

Back in 2017 the wildly popular toy company declared bankruptcy. Now, almost ten years later, the company is looking to make a comeback.

The Go Retail Group, which owns Toys “R” Us, announced it would be opening seven new locations across the country, including one in West Des Moines. They also announced plans to open multiple flagship stores and seasonal shops both nationally and internationally.

On Thursday, leaders with Jordan Creek Mall confirmed that the new Toys “R” Us store will take over the old Forever 21 location across from the food court, and that the store should be open by November, just in time for holiday shopping.
