WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. — Authorities in a cold case investigation into the 2006 death of Deidre Harm in Wisconsin Rapids have named Christopher Revak, a deceased man from southwest Missouri, as the person responsible for her murder.
According to Wood County, Wisconsin, District Attorney Jonathan Barnett, he believes there was enough evidence to charge and ultimately convict Revak if he were still alive, and he considers the case to be closed.

“After his thorough review of the case, [Barnett] agreed with us that Chris Revak was responsible for Deidre Harm’s death,” said the Wood County Sheriff in a social media post. “This may provide some closure for many, but won’t bring Deidre back. Our thoughts and prayers will always be with Deidre’s family.”
According to a statement from Scott and Vegas Harm, Deidre’s father and daughter, the Wood County, Wisconsin, Sheriff Shawn Becker notified Scott that they were closing his daughter’s murder case on Oct. 15.
“First and foremost, words will never heal our hearts that have been forever broken, nor will they lessen the grief or the emptiness we feel every single day without her,” said Scott and Vegas Harm in the statement. “To the person — or people — responsible for the death of our beloved Deidre Christine Harm, I want these words to be heard and felt. You did not just take a life; you shattered countless others. Deidre was a daughter, a mother, a friend, and a light in this world whose absence is felt by everyone who knew and loved her.”
Revak also has connections to the deaths of two other women. He is the supposed killer of Rene Williams, a Marshfield woman who went missing in 2007 after working a bartending shift at Eagles Lodge in Ava.
In Douglas County Sheriff Chris DeGase’s investigation into the case, he interviewed Revak’s wife, Johanna, who said Revak had taken her to a hill behind their house where she claims to have seen Rene’s body lying on the ground. She also told DeGase that Revak threatened to kill her mom or sister if she didn’t help load Rene into a vehicle.
With Johanna’s statement, Revak was arrested, but he had killed himself while in Douglas County jail before he was questioned.
Revak is also one of four persons of interest in the disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit, a morning anchor from Mason City, Iowa, who went missing in 1995. Her case was recently featured in a Hulu docuseries entitled “Her Last Broadcast: The Disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit.”
