Two people injured after a car hit a sign, rolled in Marshalltown

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa — Two people were injured after a car hit a sign and then rolled in Marshalltown early Sunday morning.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash happened at S. 12th Avenue and E. Olive Street in Marshalltown just before 1:15 a.m. Authorities say a Honda Civic was driving at a high rate of speed when it lost control at the intersection and then a hit a fairgrounds sign before rolling.

The Iowa State Patrol says the driver of the car, 18-year-old Boe Meh, was injured and transported via ambulance to Marshall County Hospital.

The passenger of the car, 18-year-old Kiana Gricelda Zamora, was also injured during the crash and was transported via Life Flight to Methodist Hospital. According to authorities, Kiana was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
