LEE COUNTY, Iowa — Two kids were hospitalized after their electric bike crashed into a car in Lee County on Tuesday.
At around 4:44 p.m. a Honda Civic was driving through the intersection of Avenue East and 20th Street in Fort Madison when an electric bike crashed into the front of the car. According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, two kids were riding the e-bike and failed to stop at the intersection.
Both kids, identified as a 9-year-old and 12-year-old, were injured in the crash. The 9-year-old was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals while the 12-year-old was transported to a local hospital via ambulance.
The driver of the Honda Civic was not injured.
