PERRY, Iowa — JBS USA is holding a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday in Perry for its new $135 million sausage production plant.
Back in May, the company announced it would open the state-of-the-art facility in late 2026. Initially, the plant will employ 250 workers in one shift, and JBS USA plans to expand to a second shift over time, doubling its workforce to 500.
The new plant will produce 130 million pounds of sausage each year.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at the Industrial Park at 192 Soumas Avenue in Perry.
