Cyclones, Hawkeyes ranked in preseason AP Top 25 women’s college basketball poll

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa State Cyclone and Iowa Hawkeye women’s basketball teams have scored spots in the AP Top 25 preseason poll.

Iowa State is ranked at #14 and Iowa came in at #21.

The Cyclones are coming off a 23-12 season that saw them beat Princeton in the First Four of the NCAA tournament, but lost in the first round to Michigan.

Standout Audi Crooks has been named the Big 12’s preseason Player of the Year. She led the conference with an average of 23.4 points per game last season.

The Iowa Hawkeyes ended last season 23-11. They made the NCAA tournament and won their first-round game against Murray State, but lost to Oklahoma in the second round.
