DES MOINES, Iowa — An investigation is underway after a shooting was reported in the city’s River Bend Neighborhood Monday.
At around 12:30 p.m. officers with the Des Moines Police Department responded to multiple reports of a shooting near the intersection of 6th Avenue and Forest Avenue. The DMPD said that responding officers discovered a vehicle with bullet holes and shell casings at the scene.
After the shooting, the DMPD says that an individual later called in and reported being the target of the shooting. No injuries were reported.
The DMPD said there’s no indication of any ongoing danger to the community.
