DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa Wild is set for the season opener vs. the Chicago Wolves inside the Casey’s Center Saturday night.
Fans will see many changes this season with the Iowa Wild including playing in a newly re-named arena, a new coach and 13 new players on this years roster.
Greg Cronin is taking the reins in his first year as the Wild’s head coach. Cronin most recently coached in the NHL for the Anaheim Ducks for two years. He brings a fast style of play that fans will look to when attending a Wild game.
Ben Gislason, Voice of the Iowa Wild, said that fans have a lot to look forward to when coming to a game on opening weekend. On Saturday, it’s magnet giveaway night with a schedule printed on it as well. Gislason said they are bringing fan interactions and pyrotechnics ahead of the game. On Sunday when they face a rival, the Rockford IceHogs, it will be kids night with free hat giveaways and markers to design your own hat.
Puck drop is set for 6 p.m. Saturday night between the Iowa Wild vs. Chicago Wolves. Tickets are still available, those can be purchased here along with other information about this weekends games.
