DES MOINES, Iowa — An investigation is underway after police say two people stole and crashed a car in Des Moines.
According to the Des Moines Police Department, a stolen vehicle fled from officers near SE 14th Street and Park Avenue heading northbound until it crashed into another vehicle.
Two people fled from the stolen vehicle on foot and were taken into custody by DMPD officers near the crash.
DMPD says that Des Moines Fire Department medics are on the scene. Authorities have not confirmed any injuries.
Police say the crash is causing delays at the SE 14th Street viaduct. An investigation into this incident is ongoing. DMPD says more information will be released as it becomes available.
