Ongoing drug investigation leads to arrest in Marshalltown

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa — The Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force arrested a Marshalltown man Wednesday as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

On Wednesday, investigators with the Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force served a narcotics search warrant in the 400 block of Park Street in Marshalltown as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

During the search, investigators uncovered evidence of drug use and distribution. Authorities say approximately fifteen grams of suspected methamphetamine and various items of drug-related paraphernalia was seized.

Jose Jesus Morales-Garcia, 27, was arrested as a result of the investigation. Morales-Garcia is charged with Possession of a Schedule ll Controlled Substance w/ Intent to Deliver, a Class B Felony, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force was assisted by the Marshalltown Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office K9, and the Iowa Narcotics Division.

Authorities say the drug investigation is ongoing but that no additional information will be provided at this time.
