Des Moines Police seek public’s help to identify shooting suspect

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Des Moines Police Department has released surveillance video showing a suspect in a shooting that injured one person on September 20th.

DMPD is hoping the public can help to identify the suspect in the incident that happened just before 8:30 p.m. near SE 11th St. and Railroad Ave. Sgt. Paul Parizek, Public Information Officer of the Des Moines Police Department, said an employee of a youth residential care facility was driving through the neighborhood when he was shot. He suffered minor injuries.

Surveillance video shows a subject walking and then running away. Police say evidence indicates he was the shooter.

Sgt. Parizek said it’s believed the shooter may live in or be a frequent visitor to the neighborhood.
