Two areas of storms moved north to south across Iowa overnight, splitting right around the Des Moines Metro.

The heaviest rain stayed north and west of the metro, with a hole of dry conditions on the west side of Des Moines up to Polk City and Boone.

Here’s a look at some of the higher rainfall totals overnight.


There were a few severe reports, mainly in northern Iowa last night, with a few hail reports and wind reports.
