DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is investigating an East Village Neighborhood shooting that injured one person Saturday evening.
The DMPD says just before 8:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to a Des Moines area hospital to investigate a report of a shooting victim who had gone to the hospital for care. Authorities say the injured adult male drove to the hospital after being shot.
According to police, the injuries the adult male sustained are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police say officers have found evidence of a shooting near SE 11th Street and East Railroad Avenue. The DMPD says there is no indication of ingoing danger to the surrounding neighborhood.
The Des Moines Police Department has opened an investigation into this incident.
