DES MOINES, Iowa — Emergency repairs to a utility pole and wires have closed a portion of Ingersoll Avenue in Des Moines on Monday morning.

The Des Moines Police Department announced around 11:30 a.m. that Ingersoll Avenue between 42nd Street and 43rd Street is temporarily closed in order to allow crews to complete the repairs.

Drivers are being advised to use Grand Avenue as a detour for east/west traffic.

Police did not provide an estimated time for when the road would be reopened.
