Child porn arrest for Ankeny nurse who provided care for disabled kids

ANKENY, Iowa — An Ankeny nurse who provides in-home care for disabled children has been arrested for allegedly possessing child pornography.

Kenneth Clark

Kenneth Wayne Clark, 60, was booked into the Polk County Jail on 10 counts of Purchase/Possess Depiction of Minor in Sex Act 1st Offense on Tuesday morning.

According to court documents, the investigation by the Ankeny Police Department began in May after the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation passed along a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip came from a cloud storage service that reported a user had uploaded a file depicting apparent child pornography.

The criminal complaints say Clark downloaded and/or possessed videos on his phone consistent with child sexual abuse material between March 1, 2025 and July 30, 2025.

The complaints said a no-contact order was requested against all minors because “the defendant reports being a registered nurse doing in home care for disabled children.”

The order was granted.

According to Iowa Board of Nursing records, Clark’s license is valid until October 15, 2026.

A preliminary hearing in the case has been scheduled for September 22nd. His bond has been set at $50,000.

Clark also faces charges for drugs that investigators allegedly found in his Ankeny residence when the search warrant was served on August 1st. He is charged with three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Offense and one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Methamphetamine and marijuana, as well as bongs, were located in Clark’s residence, according to charging documents.
