BLUFFTON, Iowa — The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office says a body was recovered from the Upper Iowa River on Friday morning.
According to authorities, at around 10 a.m. WCSO deputies responded to the Upper Iowa River, near Bluffton, on a report of a body in the river.
Authorities say the body was recovered and identified. The family has been notified but police say the identity of the person recovered is not being released at this time.
There is no suspicion of foul play and the public is not in any danger, according to the WSCO.
During this recovery the WCSO was assisted by the Decorah Fire Department, WinnMed Ambulance, Winneshiek County Medical Examiner and County Emergency Management.
