DES MOINSES, Iowa — After a cool weekend, we’ll head back into summer this week. Your weather timeline takes you into Wednesday.

Lows Sunday night will be warmer than those of the past few. South winds on Monday will gust to around 25mph at times in the afternoon and help to start pushing the mercury up. We may also seem some smoke aloft (amidst clouds) move in late Monday as well.

Scattered storms will begin to move in early Tuesday morning, and chances (though they look slimmer than they did Saturday) will continue into the early morning hours Wednesday as seen below. Amounts don’t look impressive.

As we move into Wednesday, heat begins to return in earnest, along with humidity. This moisture will eventually be used for storm fuel starting next Sunday.

Highs for the next six days can be found in the slideshow above, and your WHO 13 7-day forecasts below. Extended forecasts keep us in above normal warmth.
