AMES, Iowa — The Iowa State Cyclones and Iowa Hawkeyes are once again facing off in the most anticipated game in the corn state. Stay turned for updates on scores and game highlights.
The Cyclones opened their season in Dublin winning against Kansas State and returned home last week to crush South Dakota 55-7. QB Rocco Becht has shone so far, breaking a school passing record last week.
The Hawkeyes also opened their season with a strong start, crushing Albany 34-7 last week. The game debuted new QB Mark Gronowski, a South Dakota transfer, who threw for a touchdown and ran for another.
The 2025 Cy-Hawk game is being hold at Jack Trice Stadium where Iowa State hasn’t won since 2011. Stake are high for Iowa as Kirk Ferentz could bring home a record-breaking 206th career victory. Kickoff is at 11:10 a.m. CT.
The Cyclones kicked off to the Hawkeyes starting the game. Half way through the first quarter the Cyclones nab a 44-yard field goal putting them on the board. With a few minutes left in the first quarter, Konrardy kicked another field goal after the Cyclones came short of the endzone.
Hawkeyes took possession of the the ball and were briefly caught up after a QB sack, eventually forced to punt. However, Iowa was able to recover that punt and put themselves back in possession heading into the second quarter.
