FORT DODGE, Iowa — The Fort Dodge Police Department has released the identity of the victim in Tuesday’s fatal shooting.
The Fort Dodge Police Department says shortly after 1 a.m. on Tuesday officers were called to the 500 block of N 28th Street on reports of a gunshot. Fort Dodge officers arrived on scene and located a deceased adult male who had suffered a gunshot wound.
Fort Dodge police announced an arrest in the case on Wednesday, saying that 38-year-old Rolman H. Recinos Gonzales was arrested and charged with Murder in the First Degree, Trafficking in Stolen Weapons, and Person Ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons.
On Thursday, authorities identified the victim as 45-year-old Justo Cruz Calindo, from Fort Dodge. Calindo’s identity had been held pending notification of family.
The Fort Dodge PD says investigators are continuing to compile information in the investigation of the shooting.
