BREMER COUNTY, Iowa — A motorcyclist died in a crash Tuesday when officials say he lost control of his motorcycle in Bremer County.
At around 4:46 p.m. emergency crews responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on Highway 218 near Janesville. According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on the highway when he lost control and crashed in the median.
The motorcyclist, identified as 44-year-old Robert E. Detmering III, died from his injuries at the scene.
Debris from the motorcycle struck a white Jeep when the crash occurred, the crash report states. The Jeep sustained minimal damage and no injuries were reported.
