AMES, Iowa — The Iowa State Cyclones won 55-7 against the South Dakota Coyotes is their first home game this season.
Last week the Cyclones started the season with a win against Kansas State in Dublin, Ireland. This week they brought it home for a game against the South Dakota Coyotes.
South Dakota scored a touchdown early in the game, with the Cyclones scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter, and another touchdown and two kicks during the second quarter. Leaving the score Cyclones 27, Coyotes 7 going into halftime.
Notable moments from the first half include Jamison Patton nabbing an interception early in the second quarter and with just seconds left in the second quarter, Kyle Konrady setting a program record with a 63-yard field goal.
The Cyclones started the third quarter off with two touchdowns, and finished off with two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Leaving the final score Cyclones 55, Coyotes 7.
Highlights from the second half include some impressive moves from new Cyclones including freshman Alex Manske bringing in a touchdown and Aiden Flora returning two punts which set up ISU touchdowns.
Next week, Saturday, September 6, Iowa State and Iowa will face-off in Ames at Jack Trice Stadium for the CyHawk game. Kickoff is at 11 a.m.
