DES MOINES, Iowa — One person was seriously injured in Des Moines Monday afternoon after being stabbed in the neck.
According to the Des Moines Police Department, at around 3 p.m. emergency responders were called to the 3800 block of East 14th Street on a report of a stabbing. When first responders arrived, they found an adult man who had been stabbed in the neck. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital.
The DMPD said officers located the potential stabbing suspect near East 8th Street and East Euclid Avenue. The suspect fled from the officers and after a short chase was taken into custody, the DMPD said.
An investigation into the stabbing is ongoing. Police say there’s no indication of any ongoing danger to the public.
