Governor Reynolds on National Guard deployment, IPERS, and more at state fair

DES MOINES, Iowa — Governor Kim Reynolds spends every day at the Iowa State Fair doing the Governor’s Steer Show, flipping pork chops and more.

Last week, the Iowa Public Employee Retirement System (IPERS) made headlines when some members of the Iowa DOGE task force made comments about looking at the structure of the payouts. In an interview with WHO 13’s Zach Fisher, Reynolds addresses what she is looking to do, if anything, with IPERS.

And on Tuesday, the Governor announced a deployment of 20 Iowa National Guard Troops to help with ICE enforcement. She explains her reasoning for signing off on the request from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Immigration, tariffs and more are discussed in the interview, which you can watch in the above.
