GRIMES, Iowa — A child endangerment investigation is underway in Grimes after a 2-month-old was hospitalized with serious injuries.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, at around 3:40 a.m. Thursday deputies were called to the 600 block of NE Jacob Street in Grimes to assist the Johnston-Grimes Fire Department with a 2-month-old who was found not breathing. The sheriff’s office said the child was resuscitated and then transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
A child endangerment investigation is now underway, the sheriff’s office said. No additional information has been released.
