FORT DODGE, Iowa — Firefighters in Fort Dodge were called out early Wednesday morning to a fire at a local restaurant.
A news release from the Fort Dodge Fire Department said firefighters responded to Amigos at 280 S 1st Street just after 4:00 a.m. after receiving reports of smoke coming from the building. When they arrived on scene, smoke was visible coming from the attic and rear of the one-story building.
Flames were located in the attic, and crews worked to get the fire under control. A second alarm was called, and off-duty firefighters were called in to staff the station while more resources were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters were on scene for about three hours putting out the fire.
Officials said one firefighter suffered a non-life-threatening injury as part of the response.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
