After morning fog burns off, the heat builds in and sticks around through Tuesday. A heat advisory is in effect until 8PM today. Remember a few heat safety rules: wear light, loose-fitting clothing, drink plenty of fluids, and stay out of the heat to the extent that you can. Remember to check on pets and the elderly, and to check the back seat when exiting a vehicle.

Dewpoints stay high and heat sticks around through Tuesday before we see some relief for the end of the week.

Storm chances could affect northern part of our viewing area as what we call “ridge runner” storms ride along the northern edge of the dome of heat in place across the Midwest. We’ll keep an eye on things. Better rain chances come Tuesday night into Wednesday as cooler air begins to build in.

Highs for the next 7 days can be found in the slideshow above, and your 7-day forecasts below. Again, cooler temperatures are ahead!
