Sunday PM forecast update

As promised, oppressive heat has arrived in central Iowa and will linger through Tuesday. Your weather timeline walks you through it below.

A heat advisory is in effect until 8pm, and will be mostly replaced with an extreme heat warning from noon until 8pm on Monday. The far northeastern part of the WHO 13 viewing area will continue to be in a heat advisory tomorrow.

Northern Iowa will be in a slight risk of severe weather tomorrow as storms will roll out of Minnesota into northern Iowa during the early morning hours. The state will be in a marginal risk of severe weather Tuesday for early and late storms. Both nights parts of northeast and central Iowa will see heavy rain and possible strong winds.

The extended forecast shows us that the best chance for most of us to see heavy rainfall will come late Tuesday night through Wednesday evening. We will probably see two rounds of storms on Wednesday. As shown below, we could see a soaker in spots.

High temperatures for the next 6 days are in the slideshow above, and your WHO 13 7-day forecasts below. Relief is ahead!
