POLK COUNTY, Iowa — High water levels at Saylorville Lake have shut down a boat ramp and a beach.
On Friday afternoon the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District announced that the Cherry Glen Lower Boat Ramp and the Oak Grove Beach Access were closed due to high water levels at the lake. The closures will remain in effect until water levels recede.
Those wanting to enjoy the lake over the weekend can still utilize the Lakeview High Water, Sandpiper, and Cherry Glen High Water boat ramps. However, the USACE is warning visitors to be aware of their surroundings as debris and other hazards could be hidden underneath the surface.
For more information about closures at the lake follow the Saylorville Lake Facebook page.
