‘Shoulder to shoulder with leaders’: Iowa businessman runs for 4th District

IOWA (KCAU) — An Iowan entrepreneur has announced that he’s running for Congress, specifically Iowa’s 4th District. Ryan Rhodes is a member of the Iowa Tea Party. He said he wants to fight for Iowans and “restore accountability in Washington.”

“For decades, the principles of God, Faith, and Family were a beacon for our nation. That legacy is threatened by the out-of-touch federal policies hurting our families, our farms, and our way of life. I have a proven record of fighting for our conservative values, standing shoulder to shoulder with leaders like President Trump and Secretary Ben Carson. I am asking for your vote to allow me to continue our shared mission in Congress,” reads a paragraph on his campaign website.

Rhodes also noted he wants to focus on protecting the Second Amendment and guaranteeing medical and personal freedoms.

“The 4th District of Iowa has a proud history as a guiding light of conservative values, I’m running to continue that tradition. Across this country there are too many Republican lawmakers that represent red districts who bleed purple. Washington is infected with weak votes and spineless ideas. This is not a trend; it is a surrender. If we lose the 4th, we lose the country. I am not running to manage the decline—I am running to restore this district as a national fortress of conservatism.”
