WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Police in West Des Moines are investigating the death of a child who was found unresponsive in a car on July 2nd.
Sgt. Dan Wade, Public Information Officer of the West Des Moines Police Department, said police received a report about the unresponsive 18-month-old who had been found in a car at 5901 Westown Parkway around 2:51 p.m. that day.
The child was transported to a local hospital but passed away. The child’s name has not been released.
Sgt. Wade said an autopsy has been completed, and the investigation remains open. He said the evidence indicates this was an isolated event and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
