DES MOINES, Iowa – A sneak peek of the National Balloon Classic is happening in Des Moines Monday morning.
The event’s annual flight over Des Moines kicked off just a little after 6:30 a.m. The special flight is a preview of the nine-day event taking place in Indianola, July 25th through August 2nd.
The balloons for Monday’s flight lifted off from Water Works Park, and the winds are forecasted to take the balloons toward Ankeny if you’d like to keep an eye on the sky and track their progress.
