DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department says a previous “Wanted Wednesday” suspect is once again behind bars on multiple charges.
35-year-old Adam Cart was featured on a DMPD “Wanted Wednesday” on April 9. Cart was wanted on multiple felony charges, including eluding and a parole violation on a drug possession charge. Cart was taken into custody by patrol officers that same night.
Des Moines Police say they responded to the 4200 block of SE 12th Street just before 8:30 p.m. Friday on reports of a stolen 2013 Chevrolet Impala. The owner reported that a family member had lent the vehicle to Cart on July 6, who had since refused to return the car.
Police arrived on the scene and found Cart backing the vehicle out of the driveway. Cart ignored officer signals to stop and changed direction, driving through neighboring yards. Cart eventually came to a stop after hitting and knocking over a mailbox.
Cart was taken into custody without incident and has been charged with,
- Theft – 2nd Degree
- Reckless Driving
- Open Container
Cart is being held at the Polk County Jail on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
