DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa State Representative Matt Windschitl from District 15 announced his campaign for federal office on his social media.
Windschitl, the Iowa House Majority Leader, is vying for Iowa’s Fourth Congressional district after incumbent Congressman Randy Feenstra announced his campaign for governor in May.
“As I launch my race for Iowa’s Fourth, I’m focused on continuing the strong, conservative leadership our district deserves. I’m proudly pro-life, pro-ag, pro-2A, pro-business, and committed to cutting taxes and getting government off the backs of hardworking Americans while fighting to ensure Iowa’s values are represented in Washington,” said Windschitl in his statement.
Windschitl, from Missouri Valley, has been serving in the Iowa House since 2009. The seat is also sought after by Chris McGowan, the President of the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce.
