DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is requesting help locating an endangered person last seen Wednesday.

According to the DMPD, 61-year-old Maria Lopez-Nunez was last seen on Wednesday in the 1300 block of Norton Avenue, near the Mondamin Presidential Neighborhood.

Law enforcement and family efforts to locate Maria have been unsuccessful.

Authorities say Maria is living with a mental illness that may make her suspicious of others. Maria is Spanish-speaking but does understand some English.

Maria is described as 5’3″ tall and weighing around 130 lbs. Maria was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt and black leggings with a Puma logo.
