GREENE COUNTY, Iowa — A Scranton man died Tuesday afternoon when a car struck the tractor he was driving in Greene County.
The Iowa State Patrol said Michael Dahl, 63, was driving a tractor southbound on Highway 25, just south of 320th Street, around 3:41 p.m. when the incident happened. A southbound Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Neal Schoon, 62 of Bayard, struck the tractor from behind.
Dahl was knocked from the tractor as it rolled into the west ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The ISP crash report did not list any injuries for Schoon.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Scranton Fire, Bayard Fire, and Greene County Ambulance all assisted in the response to the crash.
The ISP is continuing to investigate.
