BONDURANT, Iowa — A death investigation is underway for a 3-year-old child who died in Bondurant on Saturday.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the 3400 block of Hawthorn Drive Southwest on reports of an unresponsive child just after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Deputes and Bondurant EMS responded to the scene and began efforts to revive the three-year-old male. Efforts were unsuccessful.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Detectives, and Polk County Medical Examiner were called to the home and have opened an investigation.
Authorities say this is considered an isolated event ad there is no ongoing threat to the community.
