ST. LOUIS, Missouri — Baseball fans in Iowa are split in their allegiances, but many of them are rooting for either the Cubs or Cardinals. So when they get together, there’s an even greater chance Iowans are paying attention.
The Cubs and Cardinals had to wait almost three months to face each other this season. And the first series was a steamy one at Busch Stadium.
The Cubs entered game two on Tuesday in first place in the division, 3.5 games ahead of the Cardinals.
Two-time World Series champ, Bengie Molina, loves this NL Central showdown. He’s currently the Cardinals Spanish radio analysis, but he’s been around for years, especially when his brother Yadier Molina was a career Cardinals catcher. Bengie is also no stranger to Iowa. He is a Hall-of-Famer with the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
