New Guinness World Record broken in Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa — The City of Des Moines now holds a new Guinness World Record after community members participated in the longest temporary mini golf hole.

The event was organized by UScellular. They built a 507-foot mini golf hole in Cowles Commons in downtown Des Moines.

An adjudicator from the Guinness World Record Records, Michael Empric, was on sight to verify the record and present a certificate to UScellular.

“It feels amazing to be with UScellular and to partner to bring something to Des Moines like this. It’s such an amazing community, so when we can bring family fun and attempt to beat a world record at the same time, it’s a great day,” said Monique Moore of UScellular.

The public can play on the longest temporary mini golf hole at Cowles Commons from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
