ANKENY, Iowa — The Ankeny Police Department says a section of road is closed after it buckled due to extreme heat.

In a Facebook post on Saturday afternoon, the Ankeny Police Department said a section of the roadway on West First Street in front of Northwest Elementary buckled due to extreme heat.

The Ankeny Streets department closed one lane for Eastbound traffic, which authorities say will remain closed through the weekend.
