DES MOINES, Iowa — President Donald Trump’s team announced on Friday that he will be visiting the Iowa State Fairgrounds in July.
According to an email to supporters, Trump will be delivering a speech at the fairgrounds in July to mark the start of Independence Day celebrations.
The announcement comes after it was reported that Trump was making plans to visit Iowa during the State Fair. Congressman Zach Nunn published a post to Facebook last week stating that he asked the president to join him and his family at the fair, and that the president agreed.
Shortly after Trump was inaugurated, he announced the desire to host a nation-wide celebration around this year’s Independence Day — America’s 250th birthday — with part of the celebrations including a year-long “Great American State Fair” in Iowa.
The event announced on Friday; however, is scheduled to take place for just one day on Thursday, July 3. No additional information about what the event will entail, other than the president’s speech, has been released.
Trump has visited the Iowa State Fair during past election cycles, including in 2015 and 2023.
