GUTHRIE COUNTY, Iowa — A Coon Rapids man died Tuesday night in a crash involving three vehicles a few miles west of the Guthrie County town of Bagley.
The Iowa State Patrol said the crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on Highway 141, east of Oak Avenue. A Chevy Impala driven by 60-year-old Jerry Hager was traveling eastbound when his vehicle crossed the center line during heavy rain.
The car side-swiped a westbound Jeep Wrangler driven by 56-year-old Carroll resident Michele Pudenz, then struck a GMC Terrain driven by 26-year-old Gillian Streit of Manilla head-on.
Hager was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The ISP said he was not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver and passenger of the Wrangler, as well as the driver of the Terrain, were offered medical attention at the scene but were not transported to a hospital. All three were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.
The Iowa State Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
