IOWA — We are not done with the storms yet. Severe storms moved through western Iowa Monday night and brought some strong wind gusts, wind damage, and isolated hail reports. The storms weakened as they approached the Des Moines metro.

Rainfall stayed under 1″ of rain with these storms. Des Moines measured 0.20″.

The system that brought last night’s storms is still lingering across the Central Plains and Midwest.

More spotty showers look to fire up in southern and southwest Iowa this afternoon and evening with the main line of storms and heavy rain coming in after 8 PM.

A few of these storms later tonight could be severe with damaging winds and hail. The threat will be highest for central and southern Iowa.
