DES MOINES, Iowa — Some of us have received some appreciated rainfall today and during the past 24-48 hours. But southern Iowa could use some. Below, the heavier totals and a look at daily, 48-hour, and monthly rain totals:




It’s been hot and muggy, and those conditions will fire rounds of rainfall through Wednesday, when heavier rain looks likely.



The Storm Prediction Center keeps us in rain chances tonight, with more strong storms possible on Tuesday. Computer-modeled storm progression into tomorrow morning follows the SPC images below.





Lows tonight will stay warm due to high dewpoints, and that moisture will translate to rainfall, with estimated totals by Thursday morning below. Wednesday could be a soaker.


Highs for the next six days are above, and your WHO 13 7-day forecasts below. It appears we’ll get a break from rainfall (but more heat) Thursday into the weekend, with another rain chance coming the following Monday.
