DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is investigating after one person was injured during a shooting incident on Sunday evening.

According to a DMPD post on X, DMPD and DMFD officers were called to the 6400 block of Southeast 3rd Street just after 10:30 p.m.

DMPD says one person was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound. The injury is not believed to be life-threatening, according to police.

Authorities say the scene is secure and that there is no indication of ongoing danger to the neighborhood.
