NEWTON, Iowa — The Newton Police Department has released the name of a man found dead in a Newton home Monday as authorities executed a search warrant at the residence.
Police said 66-year-old Tomie Lee Misner Jr. of Des Moines was found deceased in the home at 1210 N 4th Avenue E shortly after 7:00 p.m. His body was discovered as local, county, and federal law enforcement officers executed a search warrant related to an ongoing investigation.
An autopsy has been done by the Office of the State Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death. NPD said the results are pending.
