Motorcyclist killed after being hit by semi in Floyd County identified

FLOYD COUNTY, Iowa — A motorcyclist who was killed after being hit by a semi on a Floyd County highway Wednesday morning has been identified.

At around 9:10 a.m. multiple agencies, including the Iowa State Patrol, responded to US Highway 18 near Charles City for a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and semi. According to an ISP crash report, the motorcyclist pulled out in front of the semi. The semi was unable to stop and fatally struck the motorcyclist, the report states.

The ISP has identified the motorcyclist as 66-year-old Ruby May Golnick of Garner.
