DES MOINES, Iowa — One person died in a single-vehicle crash early Monday morning in rural Bondurant.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were notified about the crash in the 5300 block of Northeast 78th Avenue around 6:00 a.m. Medical assistance was provided to an adult male, the only occupant of the vehicle, but officials said the crash did result in a fatality.

The PCSO said NE 78th Avenue is blocked at NE 46th Street and NE 56th Street while investigators gather evidence. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Drivers are being asked to use NE 70th Avenue or NE 86th Avenue as a way to avoid the area of the crash.

No other details were released by the PCSO.
