Here’s a look at forecasted additional totals through late Tuesday night:

We’ll get a midday break, but more spotty showers will develop during the day with the most persistent rain and thunderstorms by evening.

More severe weather is expected across the country, with the worst of the weather from Missouri to Oklahoma, but even here in Iowa, we may see some strong to severe storms by tonight.

The primary threat will be for large hail and damaging wind gusts with these storms. The tornado threat is not zero, but it is higher for states to our south.
